The Body Of Christ

Upon arriving at church this morning, my mom told me that our Preacher, Darrell Cantrell was at the ER with his family. Their Son Benjamin got into a car accident on his way to pick up his fiance, Ashley. We later learned that they were taking him to a plastic surgeon in Tullahoma regarding a bad injury to his mouth/lip area. Benjamin and Ashley are set to get married on Saturday so Please pray for his quick recovery. I am so thankful that he survived the accident. I wish they weren't having to go through all of this at all but am very thankful it isn't any worse than it is. My mom went on to tell me that my nephew Isaac was also in the ER. He fell last night and while at the time they didn't think his leg was broke, he woke up this morning and cried out everytime he put weight on his leg so they went on to the ER to find out what was going on. The doctor said that it isn't broke. He either pulled a muscle, has an inner bruise, or from where he has had a fever off and on the past few weeks, he may have an infection in his joints so please pray for him. Bless his heart. My mom then went on to tell me that our assistant pastor was at the ER with his daughter who was running a 103 degree temperature. The ER seemed to have all of Charles Creek's members visiting this morning. Brother John Pelham ended up delivering a message and going over some scripture. I got a lot out of it. Something else that really touched me today was Ami Fult's son Daniel's song. He first sang amazing grace then he went on to sing "If We are The Body of Christ"....This song's message is right on with how I have been feeling lately. When I heard the words, I could not help but tear up. The chorus to this song speaks so loudly to me and I wanted to share it with you.
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Chorus:
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Chorus:
But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?

And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?

Jesus is the way.
