Hey December...wait for me!

This year, I just put up the little tree. I wasn't sure how Carter would react to a big tree in the middle of the room. I kept getting an image of me having to "extract him" from the tree in which he'd be wedged into after reaching for a bright and shiny ornament. Turns out, he couldn't care any less about it. :)

I've been sick off and on the past two months and have been working more than usual so Christmas has really snuck up on me. As in, I haven't bought the first present for anyone yet, didn't do any Christmas cards nor took any Christmas pictures. I also didn't get a child to adopt this year because the child services didn't send me the list of names and when I called, they were all filled up. It's good that all the children were taken care of but it seems I have "missed the boat" on everything. I haven't been able to practice for the church program either or join in any of the many events of the season including our dirty santa girl's night.  We didn't even hang up lights outside this year. If you haven't noticed from my pouting, I've had a case of the "winter blues" so to speak. It feels like I've been "left out" of December. lol. Fortunately,  Friday I have a doctor's appt in Cookeville so we are going to do all of our shopping afterwards. I'm really looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit and being out of the house too. I'm sick of being sick. It's time to try out that whole "being healthy" thing.... haven't done that in awhile.
